CTC Ground Source Heat Pump Installation
Project Details:
Installation of a Ground Source Heat Pump at commercial premises in Sheffield
Installed:
1 x CTC GSi 612, 12kW Ground Source Heat Pump
Installer:
IMS Heat Pumps
We were asked to provide a renewable energy heating and hot water solution for a company called Arden Winch, which distributes head to toe PPE and site safety equipment. The steel framed construction was heated via mains gas and had high gas consumption. The client wanted to reduce their consumption and are working towards being carbon neutral by 2030.
2 x 125m boreholes were neatly drilled in the main car park with little or no disruption to the business’s day to day operation, once work was completed the ground was re-instated with little or no sign of disruption.
The heat pump has integrated hot water and is very compact so will take up largely the same footprint as before, and being a modulating unit, it will adapt to the individual heating demand of the building.
You can view the installation in this video kindly supplied by IMS Heat Pumps.
Lee Brown, Operations Director, IMS Heat Pumps, said:
“Go Geothermal’s service level is great, they are very attentive and always provide a solution.”
Steve Barker, Managing Director of Arden Winch, said:
“The return on the investment is expected to be 7-8 years. It’s not just about the money but doing the right thing, and it means we are now also not reliant on the gas network.”
